David started his business career in the brokerage industry where he created a research product based on qualitative content analysis which was sold to institutional investors. He moved on to spend 4 years as VP of Retail Sales before leaving to head up Porsche Canada in 1983. He took Porsche Canada from the 13th largest market in the world to the 6th largest and founded the Rothmans Porsche Racing series, the first single marque Porsche series in the world. Since 1988 he has created and sold 2 start-ups and managed 2 business turnarounds, the latest one being the TSX listed company STT Enviro Corp which was sold in 2017. David is a past president of the Ontario Liberal Party, a founding director of The Canadian Institute for Political Involvement and former Director of the Canadian Environmental Law Research Foundation as well as the founding Chairman of Lend to End (poverty), a fundraiser supporting micro banking in Africa. He raced cars and won the Canadian Endurance Racing Championship and competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, once for the BMW Factory team and once for the First Canadian team to qualify at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with Jacques Villeneuve and Ludwig Heimrath Jr.

Engineering

Brian has been with Nu-Air since 1997 and is VP of Engineering. He manages the day to day activities of the 5 person Engineering Department, is the technical lead on IRAP, SR&ED and other external programs and provides technical support to the firm’s Marketing and Sales, and Manufacturing efforts. He is an expert in the field of integrated heat recovery ventilation and space heating and is the co-inventor of the patented integrated fireplace/HRV. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical, from the Technical University of Nova Scotia (’90) and a Bachelor of Science, Mathematics, and Certificate of Applied Science from Acadia University (’87). He has extensive experience in design and development of HVAC equipment, heat transfer, high efficiency electric motors, controls, 3D modeling, finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics and manufacturing processes.

Sales and Marketing

Greg grew up around the business from its earliest days and has been with the company full-time for 15 years. During this period, he has been involved in operations and in sales and marketing for North America and Asia-Pacific. With his knowledge of the company’s product lines and industry experience, Greg provides training to distributors and HVAC contractors, and strives for excellence in offering first-rate customer support.

Heather has been with Nu-Air since 1999, starting first as a receptionist and progressing through numerous administrative roles, gaining extensive knowledge or company operations and products. She is now in charge of purchasing and certain major client relationships.

Pat O'Brien

Pat O'Brien

Production Manager

New to the Nu-Air team, Pat has re-located from Ontario to come back home to Nova Scotia. Spending his last 33 years with Air King Limited, a household name in residential ventilation, Pat has held various positions with the company including, Shipping Manager, CSR Manager, Logistics & Materials Manager, but for the bulk of his 33 years held the position of Plant Manager for the Canadian division of the company. Pat brings with him extensive knowledge in plant floor management, product scheduling, health & safety procedures, and a lean management approach.
